Stopped writing at page 100 last night. I would have gotten further but I had to tweek/tweak a couple of scenes, lol. I'll write a few hours today and leave it, see how it reads. First books (big ST's) are always difficult, trying to establish your main characters, make them distinct (when there is a lot of them) and (show) their angst, motivation, whatever. I know it's just a first draft, but really, once I start, the character determines the plot (their background, their agenda, and conflicts.
I like it when I get the first part down without any head banging, because then, I can focus on my two or 3 main for the first book, and get on with the story. So far so good.

Wow, where'd the week go? The weekend is here, family day and trying to catch up on stuff I let go all week. I wrote around 49 pages on a new book. (It may suck, I dunno I was kind of cross eyed when I shut off the puter this morning) lol. I have been known to re-write opening chapters a dozen times, so we'll see. Meantime, it is too hot to be outside again...Just hot enough so you don't want to have to mow that grass (that is finally green and growing after frying all summer.) *groans*, maybe I can put that off until next week, lol.
Have a nice weekened all, and read something good!

I've gotten a few hours of good writing in already, on the new stuff. It's sooo much nicer out with the rain. Although I'm sorry half my state is flooding--we--in this area, have fried most of the summer. It makes it easier for me anyway, to go out during the lulls and walk around the lawn, feed the birds, gather my thoughts. whereas before I would sweat buckets and couldn't breathe. I heard it was going to get back into the 90's soon.....ugh. I write a lot in fall and winter. I'm more than ready for it to get here, lol.

How to write a short story (This is a good one for young student writers)
Use one pov at a time. Some writers get by with head hop, but they're skilled enough and know the rules before they break them. You have to (be in control) of your characters and your story. You keep control of who says what and when. That will help you get your plot down and let your characters say and show what you need them to.
I want to offer this bit of advice too, until you develop a sense of the craft and full box of writer's tools, write with words (natural) to you. Use your words. If you use a lot of slang, hold back on that some. But if you're young teen writer, don't try to write too formal and ... >> full

I don't know what order I'll get these done but....
I'm going to work on the last BOTR book, (Jason's book)
I'm going to get some of the current books out in print (that will take a few weeks)
I've got my start on the new sexy contemporary (It has temp title, and sizzling cover-wowza) wink.
I'm going to start a set of books, I'm calling the (Irish Pub) right now, lol. It's along the lines of BOTR but will have the (male) POV more than female. Lots of delicious (Irish) guys.
I've got a sub list, too (of course) and on it is a medieval I'm writing and a couple of very, very dark Regency books, very risky stuff, lol.
