On and off I've talked about the mega Fantasy I've been writing on a couple of years now. I moaned and groaned about the 5 foot map of the lands I drew myself, the complex world I built and five notebooks of world building... that while I had to have it in my head with a large cast, Its use is subtle, present tense, lived and experienced by characters rather than narrative explaining.
As you can tell from my bookshelf I've read fantasy for years and read LOTR years and years ago, lol. My hubby is a die hard fantasy fan. So I was more than intimidated about where to "start" my own story that I wanted to be series. I fretted about, and was overwhelmed with how I was going to get all of those characters in there and make them 3D. How I'd incorporate language, ... >> full

Not much to report on the writing side, except that I am writing in the evenings, and doing some edits, too. Hubby and I have scrambled to get chores done because we were gone those 3 days and he's back to work fri, but other than getting half a roof on the back screen room (you know, the one we started building in May, we didn't, lol. My pushmower is still kaput, but this late in the season I don't want to buy a new one. I'll have to next year though (roll eyes) I'll wait around for hubby to crank up the lawn tractor (also on its last legs.) I bought two trees for 6 bucks the other day, (Leyland Cypress - pine) because I love trees and though I'll be moanin' and groanin' here over fall because of the leaves I have to rake, I still plant one or two ... >> full

Alumni from oh, too many years to count back, were there. Including two of my older sis's. My MIl, who is 70ish (she graduated there in 56-57 I think). My last year was (cough) 79. In the band was my brother's daughter (drummer-age 15) which was what I played in HS for awhile, so go Sasha!!. My sister's daughter who came back on sax to play with the Alumni band (her daughter was cheerleader this year Varsity age 15-16, (Thanks AB for throwing me a CUBS mega phone and loves you back. The other daughter (8 years old- I think) sorry neices and nevvies, I'm terrible with ages, but anyhoo, her younger daughter was crown ... >> full

I got a lot done, and most of it on Tues and wed. I don't know what happened, I was on a roll, then for a couple of days I couldn't "force" myself to sit down and write. I kept thinking about the scenes I wanted, needed, and now and then something would pop up. I spent those two days on the sofa with the lap top--and that's part of it. I can't write on the laptop for some reason. I'd much rather be able to, because this desk chair KILLS me after 12 hrs, lol, and you'd think being all comfy would work. it never does. For one thing, I cant get used to the small key board so I make too many mistakes and I don't type my usual 130 wpm. It just doesn't feel like work. I always write better sitting here at the (table) that is ... >> full
