Being off line awhile, although I’ve been crazy busy (and it has been one of the worst years ever, starting with my mom’s heart attack, bro’s illness, FIL’s death and hubby’s heart surgery)—I’ve had time in the ups and downs and crisis, to think about priorities again. I do this “step back” thing basically every two years, where I change what don’t work or alter something that’s stressing me to no end, lol. I think if we don’t step back sometimes, life will let us hit a wall, somehow, and make us stop and regroup. A lot of writers do that according to what happens in the industry or with their career, I tend to do it when my personal life changes, or when I’m looking at what matters to me and what brings me peace. What is working for me in general. Time has been slim this year, when it ... >> full

On the homefront, busy, and on the writing front, I'm doing that a bit each night and editing. I guess that's not a bad thing, since it means more books will be ready when I do have a whole day to work, lol. It's just until hubby starts back to work we seem to be running from doc to taking care of other stuff, and with house chores, I get maybe a couple hrs a night, to open up a file.
~~Leaves are already falling from the old oak that takes up most of my yard, it's hot and humid but looks like fall (grin) my fav time of year.
Happy reading all. D

Chapter Three
copyright Gayle Eden 2009
It was a week past his arrival when she donned a brown gown with snug sleeves, split panels below the waist, to allow room for riding. There was another sturdy skirt beneath it. She did not intend to ride yet but had been biding her time, having watched the people in the courtyard and marking the female of about twenty-two years who was apparently the Smith.
She felt she had done well inside and had confidence the cook and staff knew the routine. Most were better able to make decisions than she, given they were familiar with the countryside—and the types of game and preparing it.
She had not decorated the castle beyond seeing to beds and trundles, making sure the females could sew linen, checking the buttery and stores, the laundry, before leaving them to tasks.

The week ended well with a good post check up for hubby with the heart doc. We've got some business to take care of this coming week, dealing with the usual stuff for work and his getting back to the job (limited duty) for awhile, and I've gotten behind somehow on laundry and everything else, lol. I did some light editing on one of the Regency books yesterday afternoon while I could steal an hour, and I've been trying to get things in order (namely the three books that we're ready to come out) because while MIL was here my puter crashed again, sigh. Oh well, at least I didn't lose the bulk of the MS, mainly it was the last editing I'd done.
I thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers, and as always thank you readers for hanging with me through the ups and downs. I can't ... >> full

Hubby's first post op visit with his reg Doc went well today. He has one with the heart Doc on Thursday. In the morning he has to get a tooth pulled-- so I'm turning in early to drive him. He's starting a walking routine a bit at a time, and hoping his strength builds up again.
Me, today AM I mixed cement and filled 8 fence posts holes (long story) got a new head for the weed eater while we were out at docs, and need to do that (weed eat) and use the lawn tractor Tuesday, or else this lawn will be out of hand. With hubbys stricter diet I'm glad dil brought me some heart healthy cookbooks, and actually, I'm eating better myself because of cooking that way, lol. Busy getting stuff done inside and outside the house and trying to help keep hubby in line. I hope the rest of the ... >> full
