She was aware—too aware—of the damp scent of underground air, the distant drip of water, rough bricks beneath her bare feet. The air was cooler, as underground air tended to be. I Run to You. Eve Asbury
In this sequel to “Bring on the Rain”, Brook Logan has returned to Diamond Back after seven years. Returning to her hometown also means dealing with what drove her away—namely Coy Coburn and his betrayal with her former best friend. Sometimes it's not what you're running from, but whom you're running to, that helps the past and present make sense again.

His eyes followed the dust-coated horseman, lean and sun baked, hat pulled down and duster tucked back, to show the well-worn grip of his colt. Rumor had been floating around that Finn McCabe’s oldest son, Lucas, was headed back this way to attend his Ma’s funeral. Since the man had rode out nearly five years ago after drinking half the saloon dry, busting up the place, and killing a man in a dawn shootout, it took some ... >> full
