I'm doing proofs of print copies (like 15 books) so I'm busy at that, and my hubby's uncle passed away yesterday- so I might be off later in the week if we need to leave the state and head North to Arlington Va. In between reading through proofs and doing laundry, for packing, I don't know how often I'll be on, but apologize ahead of time, lol, for not posting as often. Sorry, ya'll..:)
Happy reading all. I'll do better next week. D

I don't know if it's dial up or what. But I downloaded a couple of my pdfs, running another proof (as always) and I noticed when it finished (took 20 min with dial up) if I opened it right after the download complete, it would say error, file currupt and wouldn't open. But, if I clicked the x and put in my docs and opened it from there, it did fine. Grrrrr. Why can't stuff just be simple. lol.
I'm still proofing- and yes, doing character lists and thinking a lot about Bring on the Rain 2, tricky with that big cast...but I'm mulling over the potential plot for a book 2. I know a bit of where to go, it's just that there's sooo many people to catch up on. lol
Back to work for me. Happy reading all. D

Victoria, who often ignored the lavishness of her surroundings and dressed, acted, and was, a woman of practical mindedness, listened and sipped her wine. Of course I was not exactly enthralled by men as objects of sex, so?” She smiled though and mused, “He was a rogue, but nothing like his father.” Vicki shuddered, “That one was completely worthless bastard. Thorn had his share of female attention. You know, my father used to hold contests in the conservatory, fencing and the like. Thorn, always won.” “I can ... >> full

With all the layoffs and job cuts, restructuring going on in the NY publishing Industry, (lately comics are getting hit) there's more chatter than ever about the need for publishing co's to make their books avail in digi formats. There are subjects inside subjects when people talk about the "reasons" but basically the way print publishing works-doesn't work well right now. Authors pay attention to this kind of consideration on transforming the industry, because publishing houses slimming down means all sorts of things, from not buying new manuscripts that year, to how many books they put out a year. I'm not an expert on the inside of that, but the result of the "change" brings more dialogue about e publishing, e readers, e authors, into play. And that does interest me. Because I run my own Ebiz to some extent, I watch, and spend a lot of time here http://www.teleread.org/2009/01/21/the-digitizers-lexcycles-neelan-choksi-on-e-publishing-strategies-epub-territorial-issues-and-other-topics/ I always go there ... >> full
