It's a cool 87 after being 98 and higher for weeks. Got a tad bit of rain after watching it pass over us (and seeing heat lightening for days and nights) It's too late for my poor flower garden (everything fried) and the crunchy grass, but at least we can breathe outside. LOL
I had a convo with hubby who is having a rare day off. He's all laid out on the berkline, wishing FB season was here, but thrilled to catch a Redskins game....and I say, "God, this heat won't let up. I'm ready to move somewhere that it rains all the time and is cooler."
He says, "Washington state, but babe, I'm too old to move again. And, so are you."
Of course, my brow goes up. (Did he say I'm old?)
He looks at me, and the bell goes off in his head. He says, "But I'm ... >> full

Someone asked me somewhere * I forget which board* if I write every day? I write through day, night, day... and anytime. The only time I don't, is when family is here, or they need me, or I need to recharge my energy level. I figure if hubby can work 12 hr swing shifts, and I left 2-3 jobs to do this, I must treat it like my job. I show up with every intention of working.
Yet, in all honesty, writing is like breathing to me. I feel out of sorts when I'm not, and I struggle through the times the muse, time, low energy, whatever, isn't giving me something to write. I had many outlets when I worked reg jobs, I did crafts, wrote poetry and such, although now I'm too twitchy to sit and do any of those. I also had kids to raise. So between that and working evenings, ... >> full

We're driving out of state to see my mom who has been admitted to Hospital again. Gotta be back so Hubby can work 12 hr nightshift on sunday, so it will be one of those rushed trips....
Metting up with a couple of sisters and my niece fr DC I haven't seen in awhile, it's never the sorts of reunions/visits we like, but my 82 year old Mom has really been through it these last two years, she's hanging in there thus far.
I'll be back to groaning/talking about writing and Books by Monday. Have a great weekend all, and read something good. D

I dunno about everywhere else but we're in the high 90's now. My grass is brown, my huge flower garden looks (sad) lol. I dread seeing what August looks like here in the south. Rain has not fallen but gone right over us. (sighs.) I still have too many memories of the drought we were in for so long, and having a dust bowl for a yard. It's not that bad yet, but I do miss looking at my pretty blooms (not to mention birds and butterflies) I planted 2 red dogwood trees that Need water...I've been putting lots of seeds out in my bird feeders under the huge oak tree....
Okay, so I'm through complaining, lol, but after a wet spring, I'd had real hopes that everything will bloom around me.
I've been re-reading some old favs, working on new stuff. Staying in the AC.
Happy reading all.
